Ant-Man and the Wasp Director Says Yellowjacket Could Still be Alive

Yellowjacket from the first Ant-Man movie was considered to be another forgettable MCU villain, but director Peyton Reed thinks that there are still ways to bring him back to the MCU. In fact, he still thinks Darren Cross is floating around somewhere in the Quantum Realm.

Talking to Screen Junkies, Reed shares:

"Well, I mean, you guys are making a massive assumption. There's an assumption here that I'm not quite comfortable with. If you watch his death in the first Ant-Man, the suit is compromised...he shrinks and goes into a thing. I mean, he could be somewhere down there in that quantum realm."

Of course, if Cross would still be alive, that would mean that he was deformed in some way. But seeing that Janet Van Dyne was able to survive for so long in the Quantum Realm, it could mean the same for Cross as well.

Though Cross was entirely forgettable, we have a better antagonist in the form of Ghost in the sequel. Unlike Cross who seemed fully ‘evil', Ghost/Ava was actually someone that the viewers could sympathize with. By the end you actually don't know who to fully root for.

We don't know if Cross can actually come back, but we can have fun on Scott Lang's current adventure with Ant-Man and the Wasp; now in theaters.
