Ant-Man 3 Status Still Up in the Air

Ant-Man and the Wasp comes out later this week, but some people are already wondering how the MCU plans to cap off Scott Lang's story. As it turns out, the fate of a third Ant-Man movie is still unsure.

Director Peyton Reed tells The Hollywood Reporter that he couldn't give a definitive answer if there will be a third film. Just looking at this second movie, Reed explained:

"We didn't have any idea there would be a second Ant-Man until maybe a month or so after the first one came out."

The way it looks, Marvel Studios may be waiting to see how Ant-Man and the Wasp perform in the box office before they make any more plans to move forward. So far, things are looking up for the film, even getting a fresh rating on RottenTomatoes.

For now, it seems that Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly still have a bunch of movies under their contract. I don't know where a third Ant-Man movie could go, but Lilly has been very adamant about having an all-female team-up for the MCU. I guess they better hurry since DC is also planning on making an all-female team-up called Birds of Prey which will probably come out in 2020.

Catch Ant-Man and the Wasp in cinemas July 5.
