Ant-Man 3 Star Hopes to Return Despite Film's Failure

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania received mostly negative reviews in its premiere and even garnered a 48% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, tying it with Eternals, the lowest-scoring Marvel film on the review aggregator at 47%.

Even the film’s highlight with Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror becomes short-lived when the actor gets tied into a series of controversies, making him lose the momentum that he gained in Ant-Man 3.

Despite the MCU movie’s divided reputation, one of its stars, Katy O’Brian, who plays Jentorra, the Freedom Fighters' leader and a foe of Kang the Conqueror, said in a recent interview with Movieweb that she still hopes to return to the franchise.

“I would love to come back. Spoiler alert, I'm alive. So, unless the ants eat me, or whatever, afterward, but yes, it would be wonderful. But I never know. Even with Star Wars, it's always a kind of last-minute thing.” said O’Brian.

The actress also discussed some scenes that didn't make the cut for Quantumania. “I had a couple of fight scenes that got cut out and there were a couple of moments with Bill Murray. Instead of just getting killed, he did a whole space pursuit with them and then wound up with Kang and got arrested or something. It was a lot. It would've been like a three-hour movie.”

Before her Ant-Man 3 appearance, O’Brian had already appeared as Kimball in several episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. And Marvel is just one of the franchises that the actress is a part of, as she is also involved with Star Wars, having to portray Imperial Officer Elia Kane in The Mandalorian.

In another interview with Inverse, O’Brian also weighed in on her involvement with the two major franchises. “It’s so cool. As I said, there's a lot of overlap in a weird way. You kind of feel like a franchise baby in a way cuz you're like, okay, I'm in the 20th rendition of both of these projects.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania debuts on Disney+ on May 17.
