He's baaaaaack! If we're being honest, the return of Norman Osborn as Green Goblin isn't that surprising but it is kind of fun to know that he will continue to haunt Peter when he makes his big return in Amazing Spider-Man #850. We're officially 50 issues into Nick Spencer's run and it will be interesting to see how he handles Spider-Man's arch-nemesis when the big anniversary issue hits comic book stores this September.
Fans who checked in on Dan Slott's Amazing Spider-Man run know that Norman Osborn was the Red Goblin after taking Carnage's symbiote and using it to battle Peter in an epic fight. It led to Norman losing his memory and thinking he was Cletus Cassidy, the host of Carnage before the Maximum Carnage event gave him his memories back.
While it would have been nice if Green Goblin didn't return right away, this is still a landmark moment since Norman does remember that Peter is Spider-Man after initially forgetting due to the weird One More Day event. Since Spencer has constantly teased breaking through that controversial status quo, we're sure Spider-Man and Mephisto's showdown will happen sooner or later.
Amazing Spider-Man #850 will be coming out this September and features the return of Norman Osborn. Fans will probably want to catch up on Nick Spencer's run or read the fantastic Maximum Carnage event. Let us know in the comments below if you're excited to see the Green Goblin return.
