2023 truly is the year of delays as Am I Actually the Strongest? Episode 4 is getting delayed, making it the first isekai anime of the Summer 23 season to get an episode’s release pushed back.

Though it seemed that we are finally free from the delays that plagued the beginning of the year, it doesn’t mean that all new shows will not be affected by any production setbacks.

Hopefully, this doesn’t mean more Summer 23 shows will be delayed to the point that multiple shows will enter indefinite hiatus periods.

While anime delays aren’t new, 2023 started with some of the worst delays to multiple shows.

For instance, titles like NieR: Automata Ver1.1a and Ayakashi Triangle got hit with major delays, enough that they got months-long hiatus periods.

Meanwhile, some titles like The Misfit of Demon King Academy II got restarts, meaning they started airing from the beginning in a later season. In this case, Misfit restarted its run in July.

Most of these Winter 23 delays were due to a rise in COVID cases. And while there weren't any huge COVID waves over the past months, several shows continue to get delayed.

In Spring 23, several popular titles also got release date delays for selected episodes, including Oshi no Ko, Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, and others. But at least these delays were only by a week.

It seems we’re not fully in the clear yet though, as proven by the delay to one of Summer 23’s highlight isekai titles.

Am I Actually the Strongest? Episode 4 Gets Delayed by One Week

Am I Actually the Strongest? is an isekai anime that began airing on July 2.

While the next two episodes were released on time, the show announced that Episode 4 will be delayed by one week.

There’s no word on why the delay is happening, but it’s likely that the release being pushed back was decided to give the animators more time to work on the show.

Technically, this isn’t the first delay in Summer 23 as Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 has a weeks-long hiatus in preparation for the massive Shibuya Incident arc. Though at least this hiatus was announced way ahead of time.

Am I Actually the Strongest? Episode 4 is now set to release in Japan on July 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, it’s expected that the next episode will be released on Crunchyroll soon after its Japanese broadcast.
