Three years after his arrival was teased in The Mandalorian Season 2, one of Star Wars' most imposing villains, Grand Admiral Thrawn finally made his live-action debut and from the get-go, it's pretty apparent that he means business and what this means for the entire galaxy remains to be seen.
However, despite Lars Mikkelsen's brilliant portrayal of the notorious Grand Admiral in the sixth episode of the Ahsoka series, some fans are still finding it hard to take him seriously and it's all because of the character's live-action look.
Ahsoka: Fans Are Still Poking Fun at Grand Admiral Thrawn's Resemblance to Elon Musk
When the official trailer for Ahsoka which debuted at this year's Star Wars Celebration in London leaked online, fans quickly pointed out their nitpicks about Thrawn's live-action design which bears zero resemblance to the villain's animated counterpart.
Now that Thrawn finally reemerged in live-action form, his overall design is still the subject of jokes within the Star Wars fandom, with many comparing him to business magnate Elon Musk.
Episode 6 pretty much rekindled the running joke within the community that Mikkelsen's Thrawn looks like a blue-skinned Elon Musk and quite honestly, it's hard to unsee.
On X (which is coincidentally owned by Musk), the fandom relentlessly poked fun at their similarities. Check out some of the hilarious reactions below:
All jokes aside, it's clear that Thrawn will be a huge thorn in the side of Ahsoka and once again, the rest of the Ghost Crew. Now that he's apparently formed a formidable army over at Peridea, it would definitely take more than the New Republic to match his might.
The sixth episode of Ahsoka is now available to stream on Disney+.
