A lot of Ahsoka fans were delighted with the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker in the previous episodes since it gave them the opportunity to see him interact with the live-action Ahsoka Tano including the much-talked-about flashbacks to the Clone Wars era.

It also marked Christensen's second consecutive appearance in the Star Wars franchise following his official return last year in Obi-Wan Kenobi which was also celebrated by fans and saw him reunite with Ewan McGregor.

There is no doubt that the actor's appearance in the series is special for fans, especially those who have followed Anakin and Ahsoka's journeys since the animated shows.

They are also hopeful that Christensen will be appearing again in the upcoming episodes. Fortunately, based on a recent report, it looks like we still have not seen the last of him in the series.

Lucasfilm released the behind-the-scenes featurette on Hayden Christensen's return to Ahsoka where they showed the making of the fifth episode and celebrated the reunion between Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Thano.

Christensen and Rosario Dawson discussed their excitement over filming their scenes in the episode and how special it was for them since they also attended acting classes together back when they were younger.

"It's really, really powerful for Ahsoka, to see her guard come down," Dawson said. "We know her as a stoic, super-powerful, on top of it, warrior, and all of a sudden, she's Padawan again."

Regarding how Anakin and Ahsoka's reunion reflects on her real-life reunion with Christensen, she said, "To have that kind of history with him, it really was like seeing my old friend."

Christensen also talked about how he was recruited into the series.

"When I got the phone call to talk about being part of the Ahsoka project, I was thrilled," he shared. "It kind of blows your mind every time. I just feel very grateful."

Based on the interviews in the featurette, you can really feel the excitement that the two actors have over the making of the episode and we can safely say that it was infectious to the fans as they also saw it when they watched their scenes together on screen.

If Christensen does appear in more episodes later in the series, it is exciting to see how they will interact again and what Anakin will say to his former padawan if he does show up as a Force ghost.

New episodes of Ahsoka premiere every Tuesday night on Disney+.
