A lot of Star Wars fans have been looking forward to the release of the fifth episode of Ahsoka thanks to the final moments of the fourth episode where they revealed Anakin Skywalker's presence in the World Between Worlds.
While we don't know yet what exactly they have in store for the highly-anticipated episode, we do know that it will explore Anakin and Ahsoka's relationship and rumors have claimed that it will revisit different timelines in the past to explore several "what if" scenarios.
Given that the episode will presumably show us different moments from Ahsoka's past, we could also expect now at this point that we will be seeing another actress play the character in that period since Rosario Dawson won't obviously be able to play the younger version.
If we do see the character in her younger years in the episode, who will play her for that part? Now, a rumor has suggested that it could be someone who just starred in the highest-grossing film this year.
Ariana Greenblatt Reportedly Playing Young Ahsoka in Episode 5
As reported by Bespin Bulletin, at the tail end of last week, a Redditor named EconomicsLegal6989 claimed in a now-deleted comment that an actress who recently starred in a billion-dollar movie is playing young Ahsoka Tano in the upcoming fifth episode of Ahsoka.
While the user danced around the name in their Reddit comment, they eventually spilled in a Discord server that they were referring to Barbie star Ariana Greenblatt.
During the weekend, insider MakingStarWars commented on the scoop and backed up the Greenblatt casting rumor since they've also heard from their sources that she was tapped to play the role in the episode.
"We walk into a very weird thing here in that I have two sources on this and we have that Reddit leaker thing, and we’ve heard this now, who is playing the part [of young Ahsoka]," the insider said.
"So, just to be fair, I have also heard that the Redditor leaked it to a Discord chat that it was the girl from Barbie, right? Ariana Greenblatt. I can back that up. The girl from Barbie, Greenblatt, is the young Ahsoka. Some people were like, ‘don’t say who it is’, but it’s already out there and we can just double down on it."
Lucasfilm has not commented yet on the casting rumor, but we will definitely find out whether it is true or not once the episode airs tomorrow.
If Greenblatt does end up getting cast to play young Ahsoka in the episode, she is definitely a great choice since she has proven in her recent roles such as in Barbie that she is a talented young actress and she could have the gravitas to play someone like Ahsoka.

It wouldn't be her first time to play the younger version of an iconic franchise character since she also played young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War. Next year, she will star in the long-gestated film adaptation of Borderlands.
