What is Aharen-san wa Hakarenai About?
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai follows the unfathomable Aharen-san and her seatmate Raidou in their journey towards understanding and getting close to one another. While Aharen is quiet and short, Raidou is the opposite. Ever since they began sitting next to each other, they haven’t communicated at least once in their high school lives!
However, it will soon change when Aharen accidentally drops her eraser and Raidou is quick to hand it to her in the middle of a class lesson. Soon after, Aharen forgets her textbook, and Raidou, being a good classmate that is, helps her out by sharing the book with her.
After that incident, Aharen began to crowd him with her uninvited presence, to the surprise of Raidou. She would often hang with him, inviting him to eat lunch with her, go home together, and even do karaoke.
When Raidou thinks that they are finally getting along well, Aharen will start ignoring him again while also sitting next to him at a much more noticeable distance, which increases Raidou’s anxiety towards Aharen. It is soon to be revealed that Aharen is having a hard time judging personal distances, which made her an outcast in the past.

Crunchyroll will be streaming Aharen-san wa Hakarenai in most regions as part of its Spring 2022 anime simulcasts.

What Studio is Producing Aharen-san wa Hakarenai?
Felix Film is producing Aharen-san wa Hakarenai.
The studio has been known for animating cute high school girls in the slice-of-life comedy genre. Some of their well-known shows include Nekopara, Urasekai Picnic, A Good Librarian Like a Good Shepherd, and Hairpin Double.
Yasutaka Yamamoto (Noblesse, Nekopara, Valkyria Chronicles) is serving as chief director of the anime together with Tomoe Makino (Woodpecker Detective’s Office) as director. Takao Yoshioka (WATAMOTE, High School DxD, Seikirei) is responsible for the series composition together with Ayumu Hisao (Ace Attorney, Dragon Ball Super, Yowamushi Pedal) and Kotsukotsu.
