Agatha: Coven of Chaos Star Admits to Not Being Familiar with the MCU

Following the huge success of WandaVision, Marvel Studios is now working on the spinoff series Agatha: Coven of Chaos that will center on Kathryn Hahn's Agatha Harkness. As production is still underway, most of the plot details still remain under wraps at the moment.

Recently, Broadway legend Patti LuPone has been making rounds as she revealed some details about the series including her role which she unveiled to be Lili Calderu, a 450-year-old witch who has appeared in the Marvel Comics.

Considering that Marvel Studios is known to be secretive about their projects and the cast and crew are always tasked to not reveal any details publicly, it is certainly surprising to hear LuPone spill major details about the MCU series.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Tony-winning actress discussed her involvement in Agatha: Coven of Chaos where she admitted that she is not actually familiar with the MCU and she has to watch WandaVision twice to understand it.

"And I'm still not. I'm still not familiar with it. I had to watch WandaVision twice to figure it out," LuPone shared with a laugh.

Despite that, the actress insisted that she is having a wonderful time working on the series and she even praised the cast and crew for the positive experience that she had on the MCU series.

"I'm having a blast. It's a wonderful group of women, plus a phenomenal crew. I mean, the design on this piece is extraordinary. Jac Schaeffer is so talented, she's the creator of WandaVision and now Coven of Chaos, and it's an extraordinary cast of women," she said.

This is not the first time we hear from an MCU actor admit that they're not familiar with the MCU or the Marvel Comics world so it's not surprising to hear LuPone share it. Fortunately, it looks like she still had a fun time working on the series and playing her role.

As we've seen in her decades of work on film, TV, and stage, there is no doubt that LuPone will ace her performance in the series and it is now more exciting to see how she'll play into the story of Agatha Harkness' next journey.
