With its unique premise, Yubisaki to Renren is shaping up to be a must-watch for any and every romance anime fan. Thankfully, the wait for its premiere isn’t that long as A Sign of Affection just revealed its January 2024 release date.
The anime’s specific release date was finally revealed on its official website. To go along with the premiere announcement, two more voice cast members were announced.
These new VAs join the anime’s cast, which already features several big names.
Two New VAs Announced for A Sign of Affection
A Sign of Affection is an upcoming anime by Ajia-do Animation Works (of Revenger and Kakushigoto fame). The adaptation was initially revealed back in July 2023.
As the show’s release inches ever closer, two new voice cast members were revealed. The first is Nao Toyama as Ema Nakazono.
Toyama is a popular VA whom rom-com anime fans are no doubt familiar with as she has voiced many notable characters in the genre.
These include Yui Yuigahama in OreGairu, Ruka in Rent-A-Girlfriend, and Tomoe in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny-Girl Senpai.
The other new VA is Tasuku Hatanaka as Kokoro Iyanagi. Hatanaka is another well-known voice actor, with roles such as Denki Kaminari in My Hero Academia and Flegel Reeves in Attack on Titan.
Previously, the VAs for the show’s main cast were revealed. Playing the lead role of Yuki Itose is Sumire Morohoshi (Emma in The Promised Neverland).
Meanwhile, the leading man, Itsuomi Nagi, is voiced by Yu Miyazaki, the VA of Sachiro Hirugami in Haikyuu!!

A Sign of Affection Release Date Announced
In the manga’s description on the Kodansha website, A Sign of Affection is recommended for fans of romance stories like A Silent Voice. That’s because its premise is reminiscent of KyoAni’s popular anime film.
The series follows Yuki Itose, a deaf girl who communicates via sign language and her phone. One day, she panics as a tourist asks her for directions in English.
Thankfully, a man named Itsuomi comes to her aid as he’s fluent in three languages. Soon, a connection develops between the two.
The A Sign of Affection anime will premiere on January 6, 2024. It is confirmed to air in Japan on Tokyo MX, MBS, and Nippon TV.
As for fans outside of Japan, the show will be streamed on Crunchyroll this January in the US and other select regions.
Before its TV debut, the anime premiered at Anime NYC 2023 last weekend.
