It has been 10 years now since the release of My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU’s first episode. To celebrate the anime’s 10th anniversary, a special OreGairu tribute video was released, featuring a highlight reel of moments from the show’s three seasons.

This video was released on the anime’s official YouTube channel earlier today – just in time to celebrate the show’s major milestone.

Though even before this video’s release, OreGairu had a stage event at AnimeJapan 2023 which featured announcements of upcoming collabs and projects.

While romance anime are a dime a dozen, OreGairu (or My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Not What I Expected) is one of the most beloved ones of the past decade.

The series began as light novels by Wataru Watari which ran until 2019, but it got a major boost in popularity thanks to the anime adaptation that was released in 2013.

Thanks to the show’s success, OreGairu got renewed for a second and third season, though it took a while for these seasons to get made.

There are lots of romance series that sadly don’t get proper conclusions. But thankfully, the OreGairu anime got a proper ending in Season 3 which adapted the finale of the light novel series satisfyingly.

Though the series’ main story is over, a direct sequel titled OreGairu Shin was released as part of the third season’s Blu-ray release.

OreGairu Shin features several short stories that take place after the series finale.

At AnimeJapan 2023, a range of special collabs was revealed along with upcoming events to celebrate the series’ 10th anniversary.

While these collabs will only be available in Japan, international fans are still treated to this special tribute video which serves as a look back at the show’s three seasons.

It even features a new song by yanaginagi, the artist behind the opening songs in the anime. Check out the video here:

While it’s not the longest video, it’s still a nice tribute to a beloved romance series.

It also signals the beginning of the anniversary festivities which include anime screenings, a Hello Kitty collab, a ramen restaurant crossover, and more.

Sadly, the 10th-anniversary stage event did not reveal a new anime project. Though there may be a chance for one in the future.

After all, other completed anime like The Quintessential Quintuplets recently got new anime project announcements.
