The delays sadly keep coming for one of this season’s most popular shows. After the fourth episode was delayed, Zom 100 announced that Episode 5 will also be delayed, though the delay will be longer this time.
Zom 100’s new delay was revealed via the show’s official Twitter account. There, it was announced that instead of the next episode, a special TV broadcast will be aired.
Given that this is the second consecutive delay, there are fears that the show will suffer even more delayed broadcasts as the season progresses.
Zom 100 Gets Yet Another Delay
It may not have been as hyped as shows like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, but Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead quickly gained attention at the start of the season thanks to its unique zombie apocalypse premise.
While it may be a tired genre at this point, Zom 100 is breathing new life into the undead genre as it follows Akira, who finds himself feeling happy and free as the zombie apocalypse means he no longer must report to work.
After running for three episodes without any issues, the show got hit with its first delay last week.
Fans were thankful though, given that the delay was only by a day and only affected some streaming platforms.
Specifically, it was released on selected streaming sites on July 31, just one day after its broadcast in Japan.
Now, the anime has yet another delay, this time by one week. Unlike the previous one, this will also affect the show’s TV broadcast.

Zom 100 Episode 5 Delayed by One Week
On the official Zom 100 Twitter account, it was announced that Episode 5 will be delayed to the following Sunday.
A special program titled Zom 100 Special Program: 100 Things You Need to Prepare to Run Away from Zombies will air in its place on August 6 at 5:00 PM JST.
Based on the announcement, this broadcast will feature a discussion about what to do if an actual zombie apocalypse happens.
Plus, it will feature an interview with opening artist KANA-BOON (also of Naruto fame).
Although this special will air on Japanese TV, there’s no word on whether it will be made available for fans outside Japan.
What we do know is that Zom 100 Episode 5 will be released on August 13, 2023.
It is expected that the fifth episode will also be released on the 13th on streaming platforms following its Japanese TV broadcast.
