Zack Snyder's Justice League Allegedly has Budget of $70 Million

A lot of DCEU fans are happy that the Snyder Cut of Justice League is finally coming. It was common knowledge that principal photography had been finished by Snyder before he left, and everyone though it would have just taken a little push to complete the movie. Now it's been revealed how much HBO Max is actually spending on this cut—and it isn't cheap.

According to The Wrap (via ScreenRant), the budget to complete Zack Snyder's Justice League is said to be $70 million. We know that a lot of that money is going to go to finish the visual effects, but that budget should also cover the cost of reshoots and pick-ups with the returning cast.

Just to have some perspective, WB was said to have spent $300 million on the theatrical cut of the Justice League. Indie movies like Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit cost $14 million to make with Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel costing $25 million; in that case, you can make 3 Grand Budapest films and that would cost just as much to finish Zack Snyder's Justice League.

While it was assumed that HBO didn't need to spend too much to finish this movie, it looks like conditions have changed. Maybe it's because of the fan reaction has been so positive that they decided to throw more money at the project to make sure it's "good." While this is a version that I'm very eager to see, we should open our eyes to the possibility that it won't be perfect—just like a lot of Snyder's films.
