Zack Snyder's Darkseid Actor Hasn't Been Contacted for DC's New Gods Movie

Zack Snyder's Justice League, aka the Snyder Cut, is coming to HBO Max next year and all of the hardcore DCEU fans are happy to see the director's original vision come to light. We also know that Darkseid, everyone's favorite DC villain, will also make some sort of appearance in the movie, already making it more exciting than the movie we had to witness three years ago.

Ray Porter, who is playing Darkseid in the Snyder Cut, is excited to appear in Justice League but it looks like he might not appear in New Gods. Speaking to LightCast, Porter revealed that New Gods director Ava DuVernay has not contacted him about appearing in the movie. While a bit disappointed, Porter understands since she might have a different vision for the DC tale, though things could always change.

"No, I have not. I know a lot of people on Twitter have been making noise about it and I'm really grateful, and I love that, and obviously I'd love to hear from Ava about New Gods, but I also respect that Ava's got a vision for this project. And if I'm not a part of that vision, that's just the way it is, and that's okay. My hope is that it's something the fans are going to love as well. But I haven't heard from Ava yet."

In DuVernay's defense, Most people didn't even know Porter voiced Darkseid for the Snyder Cut. Porter didn't appear at all during the original Justice League screening and the current slate of the DCEU has been to give directors more creative freedom so we can understand if DuVernay doesn't choose Porter for the role. He can always end up getting chosen in the end but we'll have to wait and see.

Ava DuVernay's New Gods movie, which will be co-written by Batman and Mister Miracle writer Tom King, does not have a release date, as of this writing.
