Zack Snyder Originally Planned To Kill Batman In The DCEU

Zack Snyder may no longer have the same hold on the development of the DC Extended Universe as he first had when he first began working for Warner Brother's superhero franchise, however, fans are still interested in knowing the director's original plan for the DCEU.

Ever since Justice League, DC fans have been clamoring for Snyder's cut of the movie, and soon enough fans have been continually looking to see what the director had in mind for the franchise. Though Snyder hasn't been very chatty on social media, the filmmaker has been rather active on Zero, and in the most recent exchange he's had with fans, the Batman v Superman director seems to confirm what he had in mind for Batman in the DCEU.

Ramesh de Silver just recently shared an image of Superman holding Batman's limp body on Vero, one that earned a very short but very bright "of course" from Snyder himself.

Like in Grant Morrison's Final Crisis comic book series, the death of Batman poses an interesting question for the DCEU. From the looks of it, Synder would have definitely shaken things up if he had been given the chance to continue working for the franchise.

Unfortunately, after stepping away from Justice League to properly mourn the suicide of his daughter, Warner Brothers decided to take the filmmaker away from building the rest of the DCEU. Avengers director Joss Whedon then took over the superhero crossover movie, muddying Snyder's vision for Justice League.

What do you think of the idea of Batman being killed off in the DCEU? Nay or yay?

The DCEU's next movie, Aquaman, comes swimming into cinemas December 21.
