One of the jokes that stood out in Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie is its jab at Zack Snyder's cut of the DCEU film Justice League. The moment happened during the third act when Alexandra Shipp's Barbie was rescued from being brainwashed by the Kens' domination of Barbie Land.
Shipp's character said during the scene, "It's like I've been in a dream where I was really invested in the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League." It prompted some laughs amongst the audience who understood the joke although it also upset some fans of the director.
Some might be wondering what Snyder himself thinks about being part of a joke in the highest-grossing film this year and whether he was offended by it.
Now, he has finally reacted to the joke and, as it turns out, he didn't mind it at all.

Zack Snyder Breaks Silence on Barbie's Justice League Snyder Cut Joke
In an interview with Men's Health, Zack Snyder was asked about his thoughts surrounding the joke about his director's cut of Justice League in Barbie.
The director revealed that he was informed in advance by Warner Bros. that he would be referenced in the film.
"They gave us a heads-up. [Warner Bros. co-CEO Michael De Luca] said, ‘Hey, there’s a reference to Justice League in the movie. It’s cool and whatever, I hope you guys understand, we think it’s awesome,’" he shared.
Snyder went on to say that he thought that the joke about him was "pretty good" and he is enthusiastic that he was referenced in the biggest pop culture phenomenon this year.
"I thought [Barbie] was great and I think the joke is pretty good. The thing that I said to Debbie [Snyder] is—the thing that you need to take a second and think about is that your name is so seamlessly sewed together with a pop-culture phenomenon so big it can exist as a joke in a movie about Barbie," the former DCEU director said.
"That’s pretty insane. You just need to step back for a second and go like, ‘Whoa, what did we do? What happened? How is that a thing?'"
While some people might perceive the joke as a jab against the director, it sounded like Snyder himself doesn't feel that way at all and he didn't mind being referenced in what turned out to be the biggest film this year.
Regardless of what you think of the entire situation, it also shows that the Snyder Cut movement has made a mark in the public consciousness to the point that it became a joke in a billion-dollar-grossing mainstream film.
