There is little doubt that Billy Batson's alter ego will face off against Dr. Thaddeus Sivana in Shazam! this year. But how exactly will the fight go down? Zachary Levi has generously given us a sneak preview at the epic battle with the help of some action figures.
Levi shared a series of photos of the Shazam! action figures on his official Instagram account. The pictures feature the toys re-enacting Levi's action sequence with Mark Strong's villain in the film. Make sure to scroll through the images to see the awesome conclusion.
We doubt that Shazam will be able to take Dr. Sivana down with just a punch in the gut but the sneak preview is still awesome. Levi also confirmed that he will be sharing more images of the Shazam! toys in the future.
The film is certainly going to feature a lot of references to Superman, Aquaman, and Batman, thanks to Billy's superhero-obsessed foster brother Freddy Freeman. However, director David F. Sandberg insists that Shazam! is going to be a standalone movie.
"Well this movie's mostly just about introducing Billy Batson and Shazam and who he is, how he came to be. It takes place in this DC world where all these heroes exist, but in some ways, it's both sort of self-contained while also being a part of something bigger, but, yeah. That's a non-answer," Sandberg said. Needless to say, it doesn't look like the other superheroes will be making an appearance in this film.
Shazam! will premiere on April 5.
