Does Yuta Okkotsu's Domain Expansion Have a Name?
So far, an official name has not been given for Yuta Okkotsu's Domain Expansion, which we got to see in his highly anticipated battle against Sukuna.
We do know, however, that Yuta's Domain Expansion is one of the strongest in JJK given the way his full powers were saved for the endgame.
Like all Domain Expansions, Yuta's is a barrier infused with his innate cursed technique.
In it, his cursed technique is much stronger and more likely to hit its target; Sukuna, the King of Curses.
Appearance-wise, Yuta's Domain Expansion looks like a battlefield with two big crosses and many swords with their tips buried on the ground.
This has caused fans to draw comparisons with something we've seen in another big anime franchise.
Yuta's "Unlimited Blade Works" Domain Expansion Explained: A Fate Reference in JJK
Before Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 249 was even officially out, spoilers showcased Yuta Okkotsu's god-like power, with fans instantly linking his Domain Expansion with Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works.
But what is Unlimited Blade Works, exactly?
In the 2014 series Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works, the main character Emiya has the titular unlimited blades as his Noble Phantasm.
In the world of Fate, this refers to the precious tools powered by human imagination, which used to be owned by noble heroes who have passed away and are known as Heroic Spirits.
The Fate: Unlimited Blade Works anime features similar scenes in which a countless number of swords become anchored to the ground, akin to grave markers.
These swords are not exactly real. They are, after all, powered by imagination.
But the same can be said about Domain Expansion. It is a liminal space only inhabited by those involved in a particular fight, and we've seen quite a few that very much look like real locations.
Jujutsu Kaisen wasn't necessarily paying homage to Fate; at least, no such conscious inspiration has been confirmed so far.
Of course, it isn't uncommon for shounen anime and manga to feature similar elements in stylized fighting sequences, creating an imaginative continuum for shounen fans.
