Yoo Hee Yeol is not yet done dealing with plagiarism issues as he received another similar allegation.

Yoo Hee Yeol continues to be under fire since he got involved in a plagiarism incident involving Ryuichi Sakamoto’s Aqua. He already apologized to the musician, but the singer-songwriter was hit by another similar issue involving another Japanese singer’s song.

Yoo Hee Yeol Reportedly Copied Sung Si Kyung’s Song

On Monday, the public raised its concerns again as people noticed the similarities between Sung Si Kyung’s Happy Birthday to You and Koji Tamaki’s song with the same title.

Sung Si Kyung’s track was written, composed, and produced by Yoo Hee Yeol himself. The song is even registered under the Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook showrunner’s name with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).

Some fans said that they thought that Sung Si Kyung’s song was inspired by the one Koji Tamaki made. However, the similarities only sparked another plagiarism issue.

"It's more suspicious as Sung Si Kyung previously said he respects that artist. Yoo Hee Yeol might have considered that,” one explained.

Yoo Hee Yeol and his agency are yet to release a new statement regarding the recent issue. But it came only days after he apologized for copying Ryuichi Sakamoto’s song.

Yoo Hee Yeol’s Plagiarism Issue Emerged

It all started when he added a new track to his project, Yoo Hee Yeol’s Life Music. The musician launched it in the fall of last year and pledged to release new piano accompaniment monthly through the project.

But he wrote an apology statement recently after receiving a message about his A Most Private Evening sounding similar to Ryuichi Sakamoto’s Aqua.

He said that he composed something with similar chords while believing that it was a product of his creation.

“This, I cannot deny. Thus, I would like to offer my sincerest apologies for my failure in thoroughly examining the piece and for disappointing many of you,” he said, before apologizing to Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Yoo Hee Yeol ended up postponing the release of Yoo Hee Yeol’s Life Music LP as he processed the proper crediting and composition rights with the Japanese musician.
