Taylor Sheridan, the show's creator, has divulged that he is already aware of how the Duttons' saga would conclude. And he claims that's the ending he's writing toward. Does that imply that Yellowstone Season 5 will be the last? The forthcoming season will be big, but this is "not the end," according to star Kelly Reilly.
Taylor Sheridan Knows How Yellowstone Will End
Sheridan revealed to The New York Times that he is already "writing to that ending" and that he knows how the story will end.
“There’s only so much hovering one can do before the story starts to lose its locomotion; you can’t put it in neutral just because it’s successful,” the creator shared. “It will go as many years as it takes for me to tell the story, but you’re not going to see nine seasons of it. No way.”

Yellowstone Season 5 will have 14 episodes, the most ever, and will be divided into two parts. Reilly (Beth Dutton) recently told Vulture that people frequently ask her if Season 5 will be the final season of Yellowstone, but she assures that it will not be.
“People keep saying, ‘Is it the end? It must be the end,’” Reilly says. “It’s not the end.”
When Could Yellowstone End?
Sheridan told Deadline that the Duttons' narrative may continue for another two seasons and culminate with Season 6 before Yellowstone rose to the top of the TV ratings in Season 4. Although he didn't explicitly announce it would be the end of the series, he did mention that Yellowstone wasn't the kind of program that could last indefinitely.
Sheridan remained steadfast in his opinion that there won't be any additional seasons, despite the show's popularity in Season 4 and a finale that drew more than 15 million viewers. Instead, he reiterated his earlier claim that Yellowstone would eventually go.

What to Expect from Beth Dutton in Yellowstone Season 5
Reilly has revealed that Beth's audacity at the end of Season 4 — and the moves she made on her adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley) — has put her in a position of power.
“In a way, she’s holding the cards now because she owns Jamie, and Jamie is very useful when he’s on her side and not a danger to her,” Reilly said. “There’s a bit of recklessness to Beth, but also a part of her that doesn’t know how to keep the wolves at bay.”
According to Reilly, Beth's reaction to John Dutton's (Kevin Costner) decision to run for governor in Season 4 was like a "light-switch" moment since she never imagined her father would think about entering politics.
“I will say as the kingdom gets bigger, it becomes more difficult to manage. In a strange way, at the beginning of season five, Beth is probably at her most powerful. But how she toes the line of that is going to be interesting,” Reilly promised.
