WWE Superstar Sonya Deville on Why She Should Be the New Batwoman

Fans around the world were shocked when Ruby Rose left The CW's Batwoman, especially since the show had been greenlit for a second season. While the show was, let's be honest, a typical DC/CW series, it did gain some praise for having an openly LGBTQ character as its lead. The CW has promised that the next actress they get will be in the LGBTQ as well, which is why WWE superstar Sonya Deville might be perfect for the role.

Speaking with TV Insider, Deville talked about how she always wanted more superheroes like herself since the WWE superstar is a lesbian and proud of it. While it's annoying how the WWE has yet to bring her sexuality to these storylines, that would all be rectified if she ends up being in The CW's Batwoman. Deville feels that she's perfect for the role and we hope that she at least gets an audition.

"When I saw she stepped out, I was like, 'This is a no-brainer. I can do my own moves. I fit the role. We can also keep on the message you can be a woman. You can be gay. You can be a superhero.' I think it speaks for itself. It's definitely a dream role. I'm going to continue my social media campaign. I like to speak things into the universe because you have to believe it for it to be possible."

Those that have seen the recent program between Sonya Deville and former tag team partner Many Rose knows that Deville can act pretty well. At the least, she's on the same level as most CW actors, and Deville is a tough cookie so she can do her own stunts. Aside from her WWE in-ring work, Deville has also trained as an MMA star so she won't complain about getting a bruise or two.

No release date for Batwoman Season 2 has been announced.
