A lot of folks tend to overlook the fact that WWE has produced several box office draws in Hollywood — from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to John Cena and it has seemingly become a trend, with more wrestling superstars crossing over from the squared circle to the big screen. Well, it turns out that another WWE megastar nearly made her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before the studio decided to scrap it altogether.

Multi-time WWE Women's Champion Becky Lynch apparently landed a role in one of Phase Four's most polarizing projects, Eternals. According to a recent report from Fightful Select, the 35-year-old professional wrestler (real name Rebecca Quin) shot a scene for the film which ended up getting removed because it was deemed "too depressing".

It remains unclear what role Lynch played in the project but the report states that Marvel Studios was pretty happy with her performance, and the idea of her mystery character being brought back for a future MCU project isn't something that is completely out of the window.

Had the scene not been taken out of the film completely, Lynch would have joined fellow wrestler and good friend Sasha Banks as one of Hollywood's crossover stars from WWE. Banks (real name Mercedes Varnado), left quite the impression on Star Wars fans after debuting in The Mandalorian's second season.

If you may recall, Becky was previously rumored to have been cast in the MCU but she dismissed it, presumably to avoid giving away spoilers. It's just a shame that her supposed launching pad to the bright lights of Hollywood never came to fruition. But hey, that's not to say that Hollywood's doors have closed for "The Man".

Eternals is available to stream on Disney+.
