  1. Rukia Kuchiki’s Bankai – Hakka no Togame

Also known as White Haze Punishment, Rukia’s Bankai changes her look and the clothes she is wearing, drastically.

Often termed as the most beautiful Bankai but it is quite risky to execute. This Bankai increases the area of influence of her ability to freeze things.

After releasing Hakka no Togame, a pillar of cold mist emerges into the air around Rukia and covers a wide area.

As soon as the opponent comes in contact with the icy mist, they freeze and crumble in a matter of seconds.

However, there is a mighty chance that the Bankai can backfire and freeze Rukia.

Moreover, she is quite inexperienced as a warrior to execute a dangerous Bankai like Hakka no Togame.

  2. Rose’s Bankai – Kinshara Butodan

A visual masterpiece, Rose’s Bankai has its fair share of shortcomings. Also known as Golden Shala Dance Troupe, this Bankai allows Rose to use the power of music to create illusions.

After release, Kinshara Butodan showcases a large pair of hands with one hand holding the conductor’s baton. Meanwhile, several beings with flower faces line up before Rose.

He describes these beings as his Dancers of Death. Meanwhile, when Rose uses his Bankai he can trick his opponent into believing they are injured.

Later, that imagination becomes a reality because of the music. However, if the opponent fails to hear the music, the power of Kinshara Butodan becomes useless.

More than a weakness, this is a major flaw that can leave Rose helpless. If he faces a powerful opponent who can read his Bankai early in the fight, it is game over for Rose.

During Rose’s battle against Mask De Masculine, the latter shattered his own eardrums to negate Rose’s Bankai.

  3. Kensei Muguruma’s Bankai – Tekken Tachikaze

Kensei Muguruma’s Bankai named Tekken Tachikaze is probably the most simple-looking move in the Bleach universe.

It is straight-up unimpressive and plain. He may be excellent in hand-to-hand combat but his Bankai can barely survive against an able opponent.

Tekken Tachikaze is absolutely limited in terms of versatility. Moreover, after his Bankai is activated, he is only left to defend himself with a basic pair of brass knuckles.

To makes matters complicated, he can only utilize the full potential of Tekken Tachikaze when he is in close contact with his opponent.

The Bankai is only effective against supremely weak opponents. But even they can bounce back if they can distance themselves from Kensei.

  4. Ichigo Kurosaki’s Bankai – Tensa Zangetsu

The Bankai of Bleach’s main character getting on this list might appear shocking, but the early version of Tensa Zangetsu is underwhelming.

It is likely because Ichigo himself was learning about his powers and how to use them.

Also, when Ichigo faces Yhwach, the Father of All Quincy left him and his Bankai powerless.

However, Ichigo grows as a character in the storyline of Bleach and so does his Bankai.

  5. Sajin Komamura’s Bankai – Kokujo Tengen Myo'o

Also called Divine Retribution, Black Ropes of Ruination, Sajin Komamura’s Bankai is a giant warrior in armor standing alongside Sajin.

It looks like an armored samurai wielding a sword. However, it is just that and given his massive size, the Bankai is a giant target.

Kokujo Tengen Myo'o is extremely powerful but it is also slow and cannot stand against a fast-moving opponent.

The Bankai mimics Sajin’s movements and if the Bankai takes a hit, it will drastically affect Sajin.

  6. Sui-Feng’s Bankai – Jakuho Raikoben

Sui-Feng’s Bankai looks absolutely cool but it is weak and full of flaws. After activating Bankai, a gold armor missile takes the place Sui-Feng’s right arm.

In fact, it acts as a face shield and is twice of Sui-Feng’s height. The Bankai is so underwhelming that even she hardly uses it.

Meanwhile, the Bankai is known to do quite a bit of damage, its recoil is incredibly dangerous.

Moreover, controlling and firing it accurately is a major headache for her.

The Bankai becomes a threat because the recoil is capable of killing Sui-Feng herself.

To top it all, it is heavy and ridiculously easy to locate from a distance.

  7. Ikkaku Madarame’s Bankai – Ryumon Hozukimaru

Ikkaku in his battle with Edrad Liones slams the broken pieces of Shikai and says Bankai to activate Ryumon Hozukimaru.

His activation move looks iconic but the Bankai itself is nothing extraordinary.

The two main weapons of this Bankai are a guandao and a Chinese Monk’s spade.

The blades are connected by a chain to the center that looks like an axe. Ikkaku holds one sword in each hand and allows the center part to hang behind him.

The Bankai is capable of putting significant damage in certain situations. However, the blade itself looks weak and brittle.

A powerful hit to the blade is enough to crack it. In his battle against Edrad, the Fraccion was able to crack Ikkaku’s Bankai to pieces.

Toward the end of the battle, there was nothing left of Ryumon Hozukimaru.

To continue the fight, Ikkaku had to resort to his own capabilities and this makes the Bankai extremely unreliable.

  8. Renji Abarai’s Bankai – Zabimaru

Renji’s initial Bankai named Zabimaru is at the top of our list of worst Bankai in Bleach. The Bankai is enormous but equally useless and difficult to control.

Upon activation, Renji gets a gauntlet that appears like the skull of a snake with red fur making its base.

Since it is difficult to control, the Bankai is quite counterproductive and borderline dangerous to Renji.

Because of its enormity, it becomes a massive target that can be easily spotted by an enemy.
