Wonder Woman 1984 has been pushed back multiple times before finally settling with an October 2020 release date. Hopefully, there won't be further delays anytime soon, but in the meantime, fans can learn more about what's to come in the film with the arrival of the film's official synopsis.

Twitter user Luiz Fernando recently uncovered the Wonder Woman 1984 synopsis released in Japan, teasing that the stakes are higher than expected. Aside from the challenges that Diana would have to face, an "enormous conspiracy" was also teased. The synopsis reads as follows:

"As an archaeologist, Diana who works at the Smithsonian Museum, is a Wonder Woman who has extraordinary superpowers, said to be the strongest hero in the world. In 1984, Wonder Woman is in desperate deadly danger in face of an enormous conspiracy of the businessman Max, who sings loudly to fulfill people's desires, and a mysterious foe, Cheetah. Can Wonder Woman stop the world's collapse alone?"

Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman clearly has her hands full, facing two villains in the upcoming film, with the hero seemingly dealing with the world's "collapse" alone. That said, plenty of plot details still remain unknown, including Steve Trevor's surprising return. Hopefully, the upcoming DC FanDome event set to take place later this month could provide more information about what to expect in the upcoming movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set for release on October 2, 2020.
