Wonder Woman 1984 is Still in The Same Continuity as Batman v Superman

It's safe to say that the current state of DC's movies is in a much better place now than where it was a few years ago. The quality went up when Wonder Woman came out in 2017, with succeeding films after Justice League - Aquaman, Shazam, and Birds of Prey - seeing an increase in quality. With the new slate beloved by most moviegoers and the departures of both Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, many assumed that the controversial Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice would no longer be canon.

That doesn't appear to be the case as an interview with Empire revealed that August's Wonder Woman 1984 would still share the same continuity of Zack Snyder's controversial movie. Seems like we're all gonna wait for Flashpoint to "fix" the current universe assuming Ezra Miller is done choking fans. That is not a daddy move Ezra, not at all.

Anyway, Wonder Woman 1984 will be keeping the events of Batman V Superman canon, albeit with a few rewrites. In Dawn of Justice, Diana seemed to give up the superhero life after the death of Steve Trevor, which was seemingly echoed in the events of Wonder Woman. However, 1984 shows that she's going to be in action again, especially since Steve managed to live so it looks like Diana's retirement will be downplayed.

Currently, Wonder Woman 1984 is expected to arrive on August 14. Hopefully, everything calms down and the Coronavirus subsides by then since it has been a major bummer year thus far.
