Wonder Woman 1984 Gets Official Rating

It looks like Wonder Woman 1984 finally has an official rating.

According to a report by Comic Book Movie,Wonder Woman 1984's rating has been posted online, and it looks like the Wonder Woman sequel has officially been recognized as a teen-friendly comic book movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 has been officially rated as a PG-13 blockbuster ahead of its August release and while younger viewers have been vying for a family-friendly rating, the film received a PG-13 mark because of its "action and violence."

Seeing that there isn't any mention of sexual content in the rating, fans are probably not going to get steamy scenes between Diana (Gal Gadot) and Steve (Chris Pine) when they're finally reunited after that epic battle in the original Wonder Woman movie.

The PG-13 rating shouldn't really come as a surprise to DC fans. After all, all of the entries in the DC Extended Universe have been rated PG-13. The only film that's gone beyond PG-13 has been Joker which was given an R-Rating for its intense violence, disturbing behavior, language, and the brief sexual imagery featured in the film.

Though there's been a lot of excitement surrounding Wonder Woman 2, fans were disappointed to learn that Warner Brothers had finally decided to delay the release of the film. Originally set for a June release, Wonder Woman 1984 was pushed back to August because of the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an immense effect on the entertainment industry, and it looks like the outbreak has gotten to the second Wonder Woman standalone movie.

Wonder Woman 1984 is set to premiere on August 14, 2020.
