Lookism is one of the most popular webtoons not only in South Korea but all over the world. Now that Netflix has released its first animated adaptation, fans are wondering if there will be a Lookism Season 2. After all, Lookism's first season only has eight episodes, which barely scratches the surface of the story.
This Korean Netflix anime follows Park Hyung Seok (Daniel Park), a short and overweight young man who is frequently bullied and discriminated against at school.
Park Hyung Seok's mother eventually agrees to his decision to transfer out of school and start over in the hopes that he will never have to go through the same things again.
He wakes up one day and finds himself in a different body, while his own body is still sleeping on the floor.
Park Hyung Seok now juggles his daily life as a handsome and talented man by day and as an overweight and helpless man by night.
Is Lookism Season 2 Happening?
As of writing, it is unknown whether Lookism Season 2 is in the works, but given the positive response from anime and webtoon fans, it is very likely that it will be announced soon.
Lookism was produced by Studio Mir, the same studio that created The Legend of Korra, Dota: Dragon's Blood, Voltron: Legendary Defender, Kipo and The Age of Wonderbeasts, which all received sequels.
In this regard, we can speculate that Studio Mir will pick up the webtoon and produce a second season.
On the other hand, Lookism Season 2 is possible if it builds on the success of the first season.
Given how established and successful Park Tae Joon's Lookism is in webtoon form, creating a second season will not be risky because there will be an eager fanbase that will watch it as soon as it is released.
Furthermore, Lookism's scope as a webtoon is already extensive. With nearly 400 chapters released in 20 volumes to date, Studio Mir will never face continuity issues.
The first season of the anime has only adapted 27 chapters of the webtoon, so there will be much more for viewers to look forward to in the second season.

Lookism Season 2 Release Date Predictions
Because Season 2's release date is yet to be confirmed, Lookism fans will have to continue reading where the show left off on the webtoon.
As of writing, there has been no word from Netflix management or the original creator about a renewal of Lookism Season 2.
Lookism's first season premiered on December 8, 2022, with only eight episodes.
Park Hyung Seok's sudden transfer to another school to study fashion and his participation in the school festival with Deok Hwa were the only things covered in the animated show.
If Netflix decides to renew Lookism, we can expect Season 2 to arrive in 2025, given that a second season adaptation will take at least one to two years to complete.
