Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is currently showing in worldwide cinemas, and so far it's received positive reviews, with many claiming that the film is the best of the trilogy.
Given that James Gunn never disappoints with his MCU offerings, fans keep asking if this is truly the end of the Guardians’ story.
Despite already saying a couple of times that a fourth movie is not going to happen in the Guardians narrative given that the original idea is only a threequel, Gunn is still receiving questions about Vol. 4.
During his held brief Q&A on Twitter, Gunn answered a few questions that can only be answered by Yes and No.
A fan sent a query asking if a fourth installment in the Guardians story is in the future or a vision of Gunn, to which the filmmaker bluntly replied with a resounding “No.”

When Gunn took the post as co-CEO at DC Studios, he repeatedly stated that Vol. 3 is his last contribution to the MCU.
The director was fired at Marvel before he was hired back because of the Guardians cast’s appeal, and Gunn also came back to tell Rocket Raccoon's story, which was one of the highlights of Vol. 3.
Now that Gunn continues to build the new DCU, he has consistently affirmed that the Guardians team has a place in his upcoming DC projects.
In the same Q&A, the Peacemaker creator confirmed that some faces from the Guardians franchise will be seen in his upcoming Superman: Legacy as well as in some other future offerings.
Even if some fans are still sad with the story of the Guardians ending, it’s safe to say that it’s better this way than to see their arc get ruined when it gets picked up by another director who isn't Gunn.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 sees the return of the original cast members as they embark on a new journey that will put them in a light that fans have never seen them in before.
After all, a good conclusion is better than a prolonged ending.
