Will There Be Another Halloween Movie?

Jamie Lee Curtis returned as Laurie Strode in the 2022 movie Halloween Ends to have an epic final showdown with the iconic villain Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney). But as this was the final installment in David Gordon Green's reboot trilogy, would another Halloween movie be in the making?

Halloween Ends is the 13th movie installment in the iconic film franchise. During the film's announcement in July 2019, it was said to be the final entry to the series.

However, it isn't the first time the same thing has been said about the series, as a new movie eventually comes after a few years. So, can fans expect another Halloween movie coming soon?

Will There Be Another Halloween Movie?

Sure, it might be the end of Green's trilogy, but for the director himself, the franchise can still continue.

"I have a feeling that, just as Frankenstein's Monster, Dracula and mummies and vampires and zombies find new ways to have their stories told, Michael Myers has stepped into the lore and legacy of classic movie monsters," he said in press notes, via Radio Times.

"One day, he will find a new way to show up in some other shape," he added.

The franchise's original creator, John Carpenter, alternatively said the same thing, especially if there was money involved.

"Let me explain the movie business to you: if you take a dollar sign and attach it to anything, there will be somebody who wants to do a sequel. It will live," he told Comicbook. "If the dollar sign is not big enough, no matter what, it will not live..."

However, for the film production company Blumhouse Productions, Halloween Ends is their final Halloween movie.

"I didn't say it's gonna be the last Halloween movie. It's our last Halloween movie," Jason Blum, the company's founder, told Screenrant.

"We have no more rights to make any more Halloween, so it goes back to Malek [Akkad," he explained. "And what he does, only he knows, but we are done. And this is our last one, and I think people will be very happy."

Will There Be Halloween Ends Sequel?

As Halloween Ends is the final installment to Green's trilogy, following 2018's Halloween and 2021's Halloween Kills, there will be no sequel coming, at least, from him.

Curtis also said it would be the last time she reprised her iconic role as Laurie.

"I need to now cut her loose and let her live in the minds and hearts of the fans that have supported her," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I now get to go off and do my own thing."

Green is also ready to say goodbye to the original Scream Queen.

"I do feel confident that we are saying goodbye to Jamie playing Laurie in the universe," he said.

"At some point, someone will maybe bring a new Laurie into something, some twist will happen, and the mythology will continue," he added. "But I do feel like this is the last time we're going to see her nervous smile and those fun enlightening attributes of Laurie Strode."

Courtney also bid his final goodbye to his iconic character, Michael Myers, after playing the role in the trilogy.

"When Jamie and I had our big finale, I pulled her aside and asked her to walk me through the beats," he stated in the movie's press notes.

"As she did, both of us just started going deep into this emotional place together. Then we had tears coming down our cheeks," he revealed. "This was what was happening between the characters, but it's also what was happening to us while we acted it."
