Rian Johnson is back with another project that it hopes will be one that viewers will never forget. But unfortunately, this new series is not part of the Knives Out franchise though we still have a third film to look out for.
Instead, Johnson has an entirely new series called Poker Face and it stars Natasha Lyonne. This is Johnson's very first TV series. He also wrote the script, directs, and is a producer of the show. Here's what we know about Poker Face.
When Is Rian Johnson’s Poker Face Coming Out?
Not to be confused with Russell Crowe's 2022 film with the same title, Poker Face is a mystery TV series.
If you carefully watched Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Lyonne made a very short appearance in the film as one of the participants in the group call Benoit Blanc (played by Daniel Craig) was in while playing Among Us. Perhaps, this was no guest appearance but a short teaser at what's to come with Johnson's future projects.
The good news is that the wait for Poker Face won't be too long as the show will be making its way to Peacock on Monday, January 23, 2023. On the day of its release, Peacock will drop the first four episodes of the series. After that, the rest of the six episodes will be released every Thursday.
Unfortunately, there's no word yet on when Poker Face will be on Netflix or any of the top streaming platforms. We'll have to wait until this show expands its availability to more services.
What Is Poker Face Story About?
The official synopsis of the show reads:
"Poker Face is a 10-episode 'mystery-of-the-week' series following Natasha Lyonne's Charlie Cale, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying. She hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda and with every stop encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can't help but solve."
So it's like a bunch of mini Knives Out-like mysteries packed together in a single season. This time, however, the lead is female. Oh and she's got a mystery assassin on her tail.

Is There a Poker Face Trailer?
Yes, Peacock has already released a couple of trailers for the show. The first of which seems to be a trailer introducing Lyonne's character, Charlie Cale.
