Will House of the Dragon Repeat Game of Thrones Epic Plot Twist?

People have certain expectations of House of the Dragon. After all, it's the first prequel series of the HBO hit show that's finally going to air next year. But will the new show still feature the same twists and turns as the series that started it all? Could House of the Dragon repeat one of Game of Thrones' most unexpected plot twists?

The first season of Game of Thrones was truly groundbreaking as it introduced viewers to the rich world of Westeros. The storytelling was also unmatched as the series did the unthinkable: it killed off its own lead character Ned Stark (Sean Bean) in the penultimate episode.

Those who have read George R.R. Martin's books were already aware of Ned's fate but viewers who were not aware of A Song of Ice and Fire were astounded by the plot twist. But what are the chances that House of the Dragon will repeat the same thing in its first season?

We already know that House of the Dragon will be about the Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen civil war that spanned over 20 years. This event only happened after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen who is set to be the lead character in the series.

There is still a possibility that we won't see the Dance of the Dragons right away. However, it's more likely that Paddy Considine's character, who is a great and just king, will only appear in the first season of House of the Dragon.

House of the Dragon is set to premiere on HBO in 2022.
