When the promo for Harry & Meghan Vol. II dropped, many talked about Prince William and Rose Hanbury. Apparently, there were speculations that Prince Harry was referring to it when he talked about the palace lying to protect his brother.

Why Royal Fans Are Talking About Prince William's Alleged Affair With Rose Hanbury After Harry & Meghan Promo?

Earlier this week, a new promo for Harry & Meghan Vol. II was released. In the clip, the Duke of Sussex claimed that there were lies told to protect his brother, Prince William.

"They [the media and the royal family] were happy to lie to protect my brother," he said. "They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."

Royal fans immediately speculated that the Duke of Sussex was referring to the affair allegations against the heir to the throne. Several were expecting that the documentary would touch on the affair rumors, New Idea reported.

Apparently, it did not happen. Prince Harry was referring to something else in the docuseries.

Prince Harry Explains How Palace Deal With Negative Headlines Involving His Brother

In one episode, Prince Harry talked about his meeting with his father, Kin Charles, brother, Prince William, and grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. At the time, he wanted to discuss their decision to quit their royal duties.

According to him, the Princess of Wales screamed at him. He also denied the joint statement involving his name, denying that Prince William bullied him and Markle out of the family.

"It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me, and my father say things that weren't true, and my grandmother quietly sits there and take it all in," he said in the documentary without elaborating what they said to him, New York Post reported.

"Once I got in the car, after the meeting, I was told about a joint statement that had been put out in my name and my brother's name, squashing the story about him bullying us out of the family," he said.

"I couldn't believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name to a statement like that. And I rang [Meghan], and I told her, and she burst into floods of tears. Because within four hours, they were happy to lie to protect my brother, and yet for three years they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."

Apparently, Prince Harry was referring to the joint statement released by the palace that involved him denying the bullying allegations against his big brother. However, the Duke of Sussex clarified that he was not informed about it and even if the palace claimed he agreed with it, he wasn't actually aware of it before it was released.

Prince William reportedly just laughed off the matter. However, he took legal action and "at least one British publication has been served with legal warnings after publishing details of the rumors by the royals' lawyers," from law firm Harbottle and Lewis, The Daily Beast reported.

"In addition to being false and highly damaging, the publication of false speculation in respect of our clients’ private life also constitutes a breach of his privacy pursuant to Article 8 of the European Convention to Human Rights," the firm added.

Duncan Larcombe, former royal editor of The Sun, told The Daily Beast, that the use of legal letter by the heir apparent was "very much a move of last resort." He added that while the royals follow the "never complain, never explain" mantra, King Charles' two sons "are willing to do it in their own way."
