5 Reasons Naruto Fans Hate Sakura

While not all Naruto characters have in-depth stories, like Ten Ten, Sakura was expected to have one, considering she was the main heroine. She started as a smart student who wanted to help people.

Instead of focusing on her great quality, Sakura was more known as the one who was in love with Sasuke. Her feelings toward Sasuke made her ambitions superficial compared to the other characters.

In fact, she broke her friendship with Ino just because they liked the same guy, despite knowing that Ino prioritized Sakura over Sasuke. Her obsession with Sasuke made fans think twice about liking her.

It would have been better if more of her character had been seen. Why did she want to become a ninja? What did she want to achieve throughout the series?

We're pretty sure Sakura had all of these before she became an expert in Medical Ninjutsu.

While she gained powerful abilities through her training under Tsunade, Sakura’s personality did not change much.

Despite her power boosts and physical changes, she was still the girl who ran after Sasuke.

Fans even noticed that she was still the same insecure and fragile girl as before, which was truly a shame.

Sakura is a strong character, hence why her abilities match her. She could have used her past to develop her character further, giving her haters a chance to change their minds.

One of the most common comments about Sakura is that the male protagonists always save her.

While there's nothing wrong with it, considering how most females are treated the same in other shounen anime, Naruto fans believe that the reason for this is that Sakura is actually weak.

Instead of helping her teammates, she ends up needing to be saved. Her contribution to the team happened toward the end of the series, and many fans felt she did not deserve the recognition.

Of course, it is expected that Naruto will get tons of fans. It is his show after all. That is why when Naruto tried his best to win Sakura’s heart, and she continued to annoy him and make fun of him, it hurt the viewers' feelings.

Due to her Sasuke obsession, Sakura only focused on the once-rogue ninja and disregarded Naruto even if he was with her the whole time.

Some fans did not like it whenever she hit him too, showing how little she cared about the titular protagonist.

She even hurt him emotionally when she planned to confess to Naruto before killing Sasuke, despite knowing how much he loved her.

Naruto and Sakura’s relationship became better after Sakura eventually got Sasuke.

The three have shown their real bond in Boruto, which is a good point for fans.

Sakura was deemed selfish by fans as everything she did was for herself. She did not have second thoughts about hurting others, physically or emotionally, just to “kill” Sasuke.

She depended on Naruto because she knew he could bring back Sasuke.

Everything Sakura did before was mainly for Sasuke, irritating fans further.

There was even a point when she was willing to join Sasuke and leave the village without thinking about her parents and friends.
