Here's Why Madisynn Was Absent in She-Hulk Finale

The final episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law featured several cameo appearances of characters who appeared in past episodes. However, one who was notably absent is the fourth episode breakout character Madisynn (played by Patty Guggenheim) which left some fans disappointed. So why was she MIA in the finale?

In an interview with TVLine, head writer and executive producer Jessica Gao explained the reason why Madisynn was absent in the finale and revealed that it was actually the episode that was first shot and, at that point, they haven't cast the role yet.

"She was definitely a favorite character," she told the outlet. "But we wrote the whole season before casting it."

Gao added, "We all were completely delighted with the character, but never in writing her did we think that she would go that big! It wasn’t until Patty Guggenheim was cast and we saw her work that we were like, ‘Ohhh, this is going to be a breakout character — the Madisynn Supremacy.’"

"But if I had known it was Patty Guggenheim from the beginning, she absolutely would have been in not just the finale, but more episodes," she confessed.

Director Kat Coiro also shared her regret that they weren't able to include the character in the final episode, "It was so gratifying to watch her explode in this role. I remember when I put together my director’s cut on the finale, I was like, ‘Let’s bring back Patty!"

In retrospect, it really feels like a missed opportunity that the finale didn't include Madisynn even for a quick appearance. As the article suggests, she could have shown up in the post-credits scene where we saw Wong (or as she calls him "Wongers") bring Emil Blonsky to Kamar-Taj from prison.

Who knows, considering that it's the MCU and they are known for bringing back characters to multiple projects, maybe they'll consider Madisynn to show up in another film and TV show to give us another fun moment with her. Let's just wait and see.
