Who Wrote the Music For Disney's Wish?
From Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez's Let It Go and Lin-Manuel Miranda's We Don't Talk About Bruno, comes Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice's More For Us, This Wish, and This Is The Thanks I Get?!
Disney tapped Grammy®-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels and Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice to write the original songs for Wish alongside long-time Disney score composer Dave Metzger.
You might recognize David Metzger's works in Disney classics such as Frozen, Tarzan & Jane, Moana, and How To Train Your Dragon 2. Now, he's adding another classic-in-the-making to his list of accolades with Disney's newest animated film, Wish.
Meanwhile, Julia Michaels is a pop singer and songwriter who has written songs for the biggest Hollywood celebs such as Justin Bieber (Sorry) and Selena Gomez (Lose You To Love Me).
Michaels has also worked with the likes of Britney Spears, Demi Lovato, Shawn Mendez, and even Hailee Steinfeld.
However, despite her variety of experience, Michaels previously admitted to PEOPLE that she felt 'overwhelmed' at times in trying to create 'something as great' as Disney's classics for Wish.
Similar to Michaels' songwriting background, Benjamin Rice is known for working with artists including Lady Gaga, John Legend, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Julia herself, Becky G, Britney Spears, and more.

The Songwriters Collaborated Long Before Disney's Wish
You'd be surprised to know that this isn't the first time Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice collaborated on a project, as the pop singer revealed:
"One, it's so much pressure; it's not something I would ever want to do alone. Two, I've been working with Ben [Rice] for so long - almost a decade - and he knows me better than most people. I wanted to do this with someone who I loved, who I trusted, who really understood me, and vice versa. And now here we are, three years later!"
Rice added to Michaels' excitement that he, too, was eager to take their spin on Disney's Wish:
"It's just a totally new experience working in the animated space. This is completely different, working with Julia on songs that need to be created at the same time as the filmmakers are homing in the story and working on the animation. to be a part of the process from the beginning to the very end is truly a unique experience. It's been incredible, to say the least. Everyone's been so lovely to work with. It's been very surreal."
