Netflix's Kaleidoscope is a unique heist drama series. Eric Garcia was able to tell a cohesive story despite the random sequences of the episodes. While many were able to follow the series, some wondered who killed Leo Pap, a.k.a Ray Vernon.

Is Leo Pap/Ray Vernon Dead in Kaleidoscope?

The series that premiered earlier this year showed a crew attempting to pull the epic heist worth $7 billion and how betrayal and greed undermined their plans.

It ended with Leo Pap, a.k.a Ray Vernon (Giancarlo Esposito), walking under the tunnel with someone walking behind him. The man following him pulled a gun, and then when the screen turned pink, one could hear the sound of gunfire.

Is Leo/Ray dead? It's possible that he is still alive because the series didn't show his dead body.

According to Men's Health, in TV and movies, when there's no dead body, then the character is not dead.

The show was intended to end ambiguously. It's also possible that Leo Pap/Ray Vernon is dead, and his story arc was only up to that episode.

Kaleidoscope could return for another season, and from there, we will see if Leo Pap/Ray Vernon is still alive.

From Esposito's perspective, he said that he wanted his character to still be alive because he wanted to still have more time with his daughter Hanna (Tati Gabrielle).

When asked about his personal take on the ending, he told TechRadar:

"I want Ray to walk through that tunnel and see Hannah again. I want him to have that final hug. Parkinson's is a devastating, uncontrollable disease, but you can fight it and Ray has that fight in him again. As he walks, you don't know if he makes it but, at this point of his journey, he doesn't want any more loss. He just really wants to live."

However, if Leo Pap/Ray Vernon is really dead, then the next question is — who killed him?

Who Killed Leo Pap/Ray Vernon in Kaleidoscope?

In the Pink episode, the man walking behind Leo/Ray was wearing a colored graphic shirt. The shirt is our clue as to who murdered Leo if he actually died from the shooting under the tunnel.

Roger Salas' son Brad (Nate Katsuki) appeared to be the culprit. In the White episode, at approximately near the 15th-minute mark, Brad approached his dad, who was on a video call with Hannah, and he was wearing the same shirt as the man who followed Leo/Ray under the tunnel.

According to SK Pop, Brad's motivation could be revenge for his dad. Leo/Ray and Roger/Graham Davies (Rufus Sewell) were former partner-in-crime before the latter became the CEO of SLS, a corporate security firm.

In the Pink episode, six months after the heist, Roger is serving 20 years in prison. Brad is seemingly blaming Leo for his dad's incarceration and wants revenge.

Will Kaleidoscope return for another season on Netflix? Do you expect to see Leo Pap/Ray Vernon again in Season 2?
