It’s fair to say that this series is best known for being a project of Kevin Smith, the notable director of 90s classics like Mallrats and Chasing Amy.
Smith is also a notable fan of comic books along with iconic geek works of the 80s and 90s. Thus, it’s no surprise that Smith became the showrunner of Netflix’s Masters of the Universe revival.
Another key figure in the show’s production is Rob David, an executive producer of the series and a Mattel vice president. As Masters of the Universe is a Mattel IP, it makes sense for David to be involved.
Rounding out the main creative forces behind the series is Ted Biaselli, a name that might not exactly be well-known among fans.

Ted Biaselli is a senior manager of original series on Netflix, and he has worked on several major productions by the streaming giant.
Most notably, Biaselli served as a producer in the One Piece live-action series, which became a huge hit when it was released in mid-2023.
Along with One Piece, Biaselli is also credited as part of the staff in other Netflix productions such as Wednesday and Castlevania.
In Revolution, Ted Biaselli is credited as part of the series’ main creative team alongside Kevin Smith and Rob David.
Moreover, Biaselli also plays a small voice acting role in the series as Gwildor, a member of the dwarf-like Thenurians.
