Who Is Sumireko Ogawa in Mysterious Disappearances?
Sumireko Ogawa works alongside the enigmatic and cunning Ren Adashino at Midori Bookstore. She often works with the register, where she laments her failure as a writer.
Sumireko eventually begins working with Ren to uncover oddities and/or weird books that can control people's hearts, bring back a person's youth, and even resuscitate the dead.
She is extremely interested in the occult and all things supernatural, claiming that they can enjoy their fear and trepidation about things beyond human comprehension and that it stimulates core needs such as hunger and sexual desire.
Sumireko was once a superb writer who got the newcomer's award at 15. However, after the age of 20, Sumireko is treated as an ordinary person, which frustrates her the most.
Despite this, Ren Adashino supports Sumireko's ambitions as a writer, stating that he will look forward to her next completed work.

Sumireko Ogawa was only 27 years old when she debuted in the Mysterious Disappearances anime. However, she celebrated her birthday in the first episode, and she turned 28 years old.
Because of the age gap, Sumireko often disregards Ren’s perverted and flirtatious remarks about her. She even calls Ren a “youngster” to end the banter.
She is very conscious of her age since she believes that no one will ever read her works if she’s already in her twenties, but Ren thinks otherwise.
Still, she wishes to be young again, when her ideas are free-flowing and numerous opportunities await her.

She can use it without paying for her life, allowing her to shift at will, including into a high schooler.
She activated the curse after meeting all four of its requirements: the time was around midnight, the curse was read under the light of the moon, she was 28 years old, and she was a virgin maiden.
