At the start of the series, Tomozaki held a pessimistic outlook on life, labeling himself as a mere background character.
Shaped by his past experiences, he emerges as a calculated, lonely thinker who displays a lack of assertiveness.
Initially socially awkward, Tomozaki exhibits hesitancy in speech and frequently remains silent in group discussions.

Surprisingly, despite considering himself a bottom-tier character, Tomozaki does have a girlfriend in the series.
Fuka Kikuchi is Tomozaki’s girlfriend in Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki. Hinami played a crucial role in Kikuchi and Tomozaki’s love story.
It was Hinami who pinpointed Kikuchi as the prime candidate for Tomozaki to pursue as a girlfriend.
However, the Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki light novel is still ongoing, so it is difficult to say who Tomozaki will eventually end up with when the light novel series concludes.
Tomozaki may still end up with Hinami at the end. We love their friendship more than anything in the story, so it would be a bit disappointing if Tomozaki and Hinami ended up as lovers.
For now, Tomozaki and Kikuchi have a romantic relationship in the series.
