Since Stranger Things is in its last season, it's only natural for its stars to have mixed emotions right now. There's the feeling of joy and gratitude-- that the show was able to reach five seasons despite a global pandemic. There's also the memories and forever friends that the cast will treasure with the other cast and crew members. And then there's that undeniable, sinking feeling that this is the end.

For Gaten Matarazzo, this is all too real, especially since the young actor is currently facing a "deep fear" for losing his "job security."  And of course, this is valid-- especially since Matarazzo has been part of the franchise from the start. So what does he have lined up after Stranger Things Season 5 comes out? Here's what we know.

The 20-year-old actor recently appeared on The Tonight Show where Jimmy Fallon asked him about his thoughts about the show ending. Matarazzo answered:

“Of course it is. There’s kind of an excitement there because you always want to wrap it up and see how these characters are going to finally develop one last time, and how they’re going to finish their journeys. But also there’s like a deep fear. Not only has it been amazing, but it’s been pretty great job security for a while. Back to freelance.”

Right now, Matarazzo has not publicly revealed his future projects after Stranger Things Season 5. Even though he had a few projects outside of Stranger Things, like Honor Society, The Angry Birds Movie, and My Father's Dragon, Matarazzo always had Stranger Things to go back to.

But for Matarazzo's co-star David Harbour, he believes that it's "time for us to leave that nest and try other things and different projects." The actor, who plays Police Chief Jim Hopper in the show, told DiscussingFilm.net:

“What’s funny is when I started the show, I never ever wanted it to end. That’s why I love the show. I think it’s a great show, even if I wasn’t in it. Now we’re almost nine years from filming the first season, and I think it is time for it to end."
