Netflix's announcement of Henry Cavil stepping down from his beloved role as Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher has since been met with scrutiny. Even though it was revealed that Liam Hemsworth would be taking over the role, many wondered what he would look like as the iconic game character.
Although Cavil's exact reason for leaving The Witcher was never revealed, it was speculated that it would free up his time for his return to play Superman. Unfortunately, that decision turned out to be a dead end for the actor as he was dropped from the project. Many secretly wished Cavil would announce that he would be returning to The Witcher. But that doesn't look like it's happening anytime soon.
And so we're back to the drawing board-- Hemsworth will be playing Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher Season 4. But does he suit the role? These first look images give us an idea of how Hemsworth will look like as Geralt of Rivia.
What Would Liam Hemsworth Look Like as The Witcher?
Take note, Netflix still hasn't released the official photos of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. So these images ahead were created by YouTuber StryderHD using deepfake technology.
You can watch the clip here:
The clip shows five different scenes where Cavil was digitally altered to look like Hemsworth. A side-by-side comparison of Cavil and Hemsworth is added after each scene to make sense of the original.
It takes some getting used to but that's what the new Geralt will look like in the fourth and fifth seasons of The Witcher.
