Compared to other winter 2024 anime, this new show is a bit different. That’s because it only started airing this month, and its main network is Adult Swim.
Despite it seeming like an American production, this is still very much an anime as it’s helmed by an anime industry veteran.
How Violent Is the Ninja Kamui Anime?
Ninja Kamui is the first anime series by E&H Production, the independent animation studio founded by Sunghoo Park (of Jujutsu Kaisen season 1 fame).
E&H Production also recently worked on the Monsters 103 anime special, which is based on a one-shot by One Piece creator, Eiichiro Oda.
Both Monsters 103 and Ninja Kamui are directed by Park, and the two have dynamic action scenes that Park is known for.
Even before its premiere though, it was clear that Ninja Kamui is a darker show based on its trailers.
Park excels in action anime, and that is clear in this series’ initial episodes as the fight scenes are fast and exciting. Compared to his other works, his latest series is easily the most violent and gory.
While there are some quieter moments, a lot of the initial episodes are focused on violent action scenes with a lot of blood. This means the show is not for squeamish viewers.

What Is the Ninja Kamui Anime's Age Rating?
Given that it airs on Adult Swim, it should be no surprise that this anime is intended for adults.
This is also reflected in the Ninja Kamui age rating. Based on its Adult Swim broadcast and its Max streaming page, this anime is rated TV-MA, which signifies that it’s intended for mature audiences.
The show’s rating in the Adult Swim broadcast also indicates TV-MA V, which means the show has graphic violence.
Because of this, the show is not suitable for viewers under the age of 17 due to its violent scenes. Thus, younger kids shouldn’t watch Ninja Kamui.
For anime fans who are 18 and above, the series airs on Adult Swim every Sunday. The next day, new episodes are streamed in the US exclusively on Max.
