On February 8, a CNN news anchor seemed to be unwell while doing a live interview.

While interviewing Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin about the legal issues in regards to barring Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot. Trump was indicted on charges of inciting the attack on the Capitol in Washington D.C. on January 6, 2021.

As Raskin was speaking, the news anchor seemed to be retching and even turning red. Despite this, he kept a professional face and did his best not to distract his guests.

Finally, the camera switched away from Blitzer and focused on Raskin for a whole minute. But moments later, viewers pointed out that they heard vomit-like sounds before the camera cut Raskin mid-sentence. The show then switched to a commercial.

When The Situation Room returned, CNN chief legal affairs correspondent Paula Reid took over Blitzer's chair. She also updated the viewers that "Wolf had to step away". She also promised that the 75-year-old anchor would "be back."

Since Blitzer did not return to the show anymore, this led viewers to ask what happened to Wolf Blitzer on CNN.

Shortly after the incident, CNN gave the Washington Post an update on the situation.

"Wolf wasn’t feeling 100% while anchoring Thursday night. He looks forward to being back in the Situation Room and appreciates the well wishes."

Thankfully, Wolf Blitzer addressed the well-wishers and gave an update on his health.

“I’m fine! Thanks for the well wishes. I’ll see you back in the Situation Room soon.”

The update that came directly from the news anchor reassured his viewers that he was okay. However, he did not reveal the reason why he felt unwell in the first place.

We're hoping that it wasn't anything serious and that he continues to feel better throughout the rest of the day.

Wolf Blitzer has been a CNN reporter since 1990. This has allowed him to become one of the network's principal anchors. He was previously the lead political anchor at CNN until 2021.
