For fans who are up to date with the current Fall 2021 anime season, some of you might be familiar with takt op. Destiny. The story is set in a future world where music has been banned. The year is 2047, and humanity is dealing with mysterious monsters called D2s that fell from the sky. For the safety of society, they decided to ban music since these creatures are drawn to it.
However, humanity's way of fighting these monsters is also through music. An organization called Symphonica spearheads the battle between these creatures, with the help of Conductors and Musicarts. Musicarts are women born from classical music who possess special fighting abilities. They fight alongside a Conductor who directs them. One of the main characters of the story, Takt Asahina, awakens as a Conductor after a tragedy struck his town.
takt op. Destiny is a collaboration between MAPPA and Madhouse. It is originally a mixed-media project by Bandai Namco Arts and DeNA. The series premiered last October 2021. Game Studio is also developing a mobile game.
One of the main characters in the series is a girl named Cosette/Destiny. But is there a difference? What happened to Cosette, and how did Destiny emerge? Here's what we know.
What Happened to Cosette in Takt Op. Destiny?
Cosette Schneider is the younger sister of Anna Schneider. Both of them are Takt's family friends since their parents were associated with one another back in the day. The second episode of takt op. Destiny shows a flashback concerning the tragic demise of Cosette. On August 2047, the Symphonica had a festival in their town. This is one of those rare occasions where people can enjoy music in public. Cosette takes the opportunity to convince Takt that he should perform at the festival. Cosette and Takt entertain the crowd with a four-hand piano performance. Unfortunately, the D2s suddenly attacked their town and the festival. During the attack, Cosette suffered from a fatal injury that eventually led to her death.
Who is Destiny in Takt Op. Destiny?
Following the death of Cosette, her necklace began to light up, and she awakened as Destiny, a Musicart born from Beethoven's "Symphony No. 5 in C minor Op. 67." This is an unnatural way of awakening for Musicarts, so Destiny is still considered a rare type of Musicart. Despite using Cosette's body, Destiny does not possess Cosette's memories. This is why Takt and Anna plan on going to New York so they can get Destiny fixed up.
