Yumiella Dolkness invites Alicia to a dark attribute dungeon in Varias to level up before she disappears.
Alicia is grateful for Yumiella’s sudden invitation, but she has to refuse, believing that she’s not ready to keep up with a level 99 fighter. Alicia is also still afraid of Yumiella because of the enigmatic shadow she constantly sees in her.
In addition, Yumiella is concerned about Alicia's low level, as her power is essential in fighting the Demon Lord. She also thinks Alicia will not grow stronger with Prince Edwin and the two other conquerable characters by her side or even if she trains alone.
By the end of episode 9, Yumiella and the rest of her classmates are talking about Alicia and her sudden disappearance in the dormitory.
No one knows where she is or what happened to her because she would normally leave a note to be thoughtful of others.
Alicia is next shown walking in what appears to be the middle of the woods, her eyes lacking their usual sparkle.
What Happened to Alicia in Villainess Level 99? Theories and Predictions
Alicia's unfortunate situation has piqued the interest of fans in online forums. No one knows exactly what will happen to her because the anime's current events differ from its web and light novel content.
A Reddit member believes Alicia is under a mind-control spell, which could explain the absence of sparkle in her eyes. After all, it is not uncommon for anime characters under a spell to have lusterless eyes.
It's also possible that a spy from the neighboring kingdom of Remlest learned about Alicia's uncommon light magic aptitude and decided to brainwash her.
A spy attempted to pursue Yumiella at the start of the episode, so it would not be surprising if the same happened to Alicia.
Some assume Alicia has been traumatized while out training by herself, citing her dead eyes as proof. If so, she may have stumbled upon a secret dungeon that sapped the life from her eyes.
Perhaps Yumiella took it upon herself to force-train Alicia, although given her first reaction, this is doubtful.
