Gray Parish Reverts to Old Criminal Ways To Pay His Debts
Due to Gray Parish's (played by Giancarlo Esposito) desperate attempt to pay his bills and debt, he went back to his old criminal ways by working for The Horse and his Zimbabwean gang.
Little did he know, this was more than just a getaway car driver gig. If anything, he's much more involved in their shady deals than he thinks.
In the first episode of Parish, Gray carries his own reputation for being one of the best in his line of work. But to prove himself, his first mission involved no slipups and no cleanups that would draw the police's attention.
In this case, Gray was simply told that he was to deliver a package, with little to no information as to what the bag was filled with in the first place.
It was only until The Horse and his colleagues took the passports out in front of Gray to seek proof that their new getaway driver indeed accomplished his job.

What are the Passports For in Parish? Series Takes a Darker Turn
When Gray proves his worth to The Horse, his new boss isn't satisfied or impressed, considering that he made quite a mess.
Even though Gray claims he's confident that the police wouldn't be able to track down his footsteps, The Horse doesn't believe him.
Still, as The Horse's colleagues took out the passports from the bag, only then did it sink into Gray Parish's head — he just helped the Zimbabwean gang smuggle a couple of passports from undocumented immigrants at the U.S. southern ports.
The passports just happened to be the stepping stone for the gang to begin their human trafficking "business."
