Since HBO canceled Westworld Season 5 after the renewal, many are hoping the show will continue, including its star James Marsden, who plays the role of Teddy Flood.

Westworld Season 5 was supposed to be the last and final season of the Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy-created series. However, HBO surprised many when it announced its cancellation as part of the network’s shakeup, but that didn’t kill the hope of the fans and stars’ hopes for it to continue.

James Marsden Shares Hopes for Westworld Season 5

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Marsden revealed he’s still hopeful that the show’s fifth season would still happen despite the cancellation.

Just like his co-stars, he, too, feels disappointed about the decision to end the show.

“I’m never going to speak without gratitude about any of my experiences, but it would have been nice to be able to complete the story we wanted to finish. I love this Westworld family,” he said.

“It was one of those unique opportunities to be part of something where I also would be sitting at home ravenously waiting for the next episode as a fan,” he continued. “I totally understand it’s an expensive show and big shows have to have big audiences to merit the expense; I just wish it was about more than financial success.”

Hence, he’s still hoping that Westworld Season 5 will still happen and get completed.

“But who knows, maybe there’s some world where it can get completed somehow,” Marsden added. “Maybe that’s just wishful thinking because I know we had plans to finish it the way we wanted to.”

Fans Create Website to Revive Westworld Season 5

Meanwhile, the series’ loyal fans create a website for Westworld Season 5 to revive the show.

Nolan and Joy had always seen the fifth season as the end of the series’ story. It was set to tie all loose ends and answer all the questions fans had since the show started.

The season four final also featured a major cliffhanger, making the fifth season much-awaited. So, to make it happen, they made a website titled Save Westworld with links to the petition to save the series, unsolved mysteries, and the latest news.

The site’s creators also asked fans to act on social media by using “theme parties” on Twitter to celebrate the show.

“We invite every person who loves Westworld to join the movement by sharing the website, signing the petition and by making some noise on social media using the hashtag #savewestworld,” the creators wrote, per ScreenRant. “[The parties] will be an opportunity for the fans to gather together after this disappointing decision of HBO to cancel the show. The interaction will be at the center of these virtual events.”
