The Westworld Season 4 trailer gives more information about Evan Rachel Wood's return.

Wood portrayed Dolores, a Host who was originally intended to be a rancher's daughter, during the first three seasons. As the park's oldest Host, she begins to become increasingly self-aware and eventually understands that her existence is totally artificial.

Dolores' mind had been wiped in the Westworld Season 3 finale, which aired in May 2020, leaving fans to wonder how, or even if, she would return to the series.

Evan Rachel Wood as Christina in Westworld Season 4

HBO has now released the trailer for Westworld Season 4. The trailer promises the massive grandeur of the next chapter in the sci-fi story. Following beautiful vistas of the city's urban growth, the trailer teases out the primary themes of the robots evolving further than they've ever been before.

It also features the return of Wood, who now plays writer Christina, who is suffering from identity difficulties and going to therapy.

Despite the fact that this trailer gives fans a glimpse into how Westworld Season 4 will unfold, it remains shrouded in mystery. While the mystery at the heart of the show has been praised in previous seasons, as the show has progressed, its increasingly complicated lore has drawn frequent criticism.

Nonetheless, it's evident that Christine's character will have more to her than meets the eye.

Westworld Season 4 release date

The eight-episode Westworld Season 4 will premiere on HBO and HBO Max Sunday, June 26, presumably at 9 PM EST like the previous three seasons. Subsequent episodes will be released weekly until Aug. 14, when the season finale is set to drop.

The popular HBO series is based on the 1973 film of the same name, written by Michael Crichton of Jurassic Park fame. The series, which debuted in October 2016, is set in a high-tech theme park populated by Hosts, robotic beings that are subjected to physical and sexual violence by visitors.

Westworld stars Wood, Anthony Hopkins, Rodrigo Santoro, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Harris, Tessa Thompson, James Marsden, Thandiwe Newton, Jimmi Simpson, and Shannon Woodward.
