Wendy Williams Shock: Friends Reportedly Doubt Her Podcast Will Launch; Celebrity Is Sad, Rarely Leaves NYC Apartment

Wendy Williams announced months ago that she has a new podcast. However, her pals doubt it will be materialized.

Is Wendy Williams Sad In New York City?

Williams' life in New York City is reportedly lonely. She even rarely leaves her apartment. She also allegedly hasn't seen her friends, so she's reaching out to them.

"She's been calling people saying like 'Hey, let's have dinner,' but she's acting like all this time hasn't passed," an anonymous source told The Sun. "It's this out-of-the-blue call with no update on how she's doing or anything."

When Williams reaches out to them, she reportedly acts as if they just saw each other the last week. The tipster also claimed that when the former TV host talks about herself, she only discusses being loveless.

"When you finally do get her to give you an update about how she's been she goes off into these tangents about being single, looking for love, and all this other stuff," the tipster said, noting that she never talked about her upcoming podcast.

Is Wendy Oprah's Podcast Happening Or Not?

In August 2022, Williams told Charles Latibeaudiere and Harvey Levin on TMZ Live that she was done with hosting TV shows and was moving on with podcasts.

"I am 100% retired from 'The Wendy Williams Show,' and I don't want to be on TV," she said.

"I've got enough money to do something else and what I've never done — podcasts. When you're famous, podcasts will make more money. For me, being famous, [it will make more money] than doing the 'Wendy William Show.'"

However, a second insider doubts that Williams' podcast is happening. There is reportedly an open call for random people to sign up to be a guest on her yet-to-be-seen project.

"This sign-up form for random people to appear on her podcast is a little strange," they said, adding that they've heard no update about the celebrity's podcast.

However, Williams' publicist confirmed to The Sun that the project is coming to fruition. However, they just couldn't give a time frame and would only say, "it's coming soon."

"Wendy's podcast is coming to life and is in its planning stage," her rep said.

"Wendy is enthused to get out there and is building a product that is precise and exemplifies her and the needs of her fanbase. All good things take time!"
